Dover Sherborn Reads: White Space by Jennifer De Leon

Wednesday, May 187:00—8:15 PMVirtualSherborn Library at the Sherborn Community Center3 Sanger St. , Sherborn , MA, 01770

Join the Dover Library, DS Aide (Dover Sherborn for Anti-Racism, Inclusion, Diversity & Equity) and the Sherborn Library for this powerful VIRTUAL discussion of this year's Dover Sherborn Reads book, White Space: Essays on Culture, Race, & Writing with author Jennifer De Leon.

As a freshman in college, Jenn was not prepared for the academic, social, cultural, and institutional differences she would confront at her private liberal arts college in New England that she says resembled a country club. Alternately honest, funny, and visceral, Jenn's powerful collection, White Space: Essays on Culture, Race, & Writing, follows her as she comes of age as a Guatemalan American woman and learns to navigate the space between two worlds. Join us as we hear from the author herself and her reflections on the white spaces in her life--and on the page. A community conversation and author Q & A will follow the presentation. The Q & A will be moderated by Mark Cecil, host of The Thoughtful Bro author interview show on A Mighty Blaze.

Copies of the book are available at the Library.
