Cuisines Around the World: Poland

Wednesday, September 296:30—7:45 PMOffsiteSherborn Library at the Sherborn Community Center3 Sanger St. , Sherborn , MA, 01770

Come cook with the Sherborn COA and Sherborn Library! John Doyle will make a Polish Platter using his family's recipes: pierogi (cheese dumpling), placki (potato pancake), and golumpki (stuffed cabbage). Recipes will be sent ahead of time. You can watch or cook along with John.

This Zoom demonstration is part of an ongoing series that is funded by the Sherborn Cultural Council.

John will be cooking up a Polish Platter. He has been cooking up these delicious foods since learning how to do so from his grandmother. Join us as he prepares his Grandmother’s (Babcie’s) Pierogi – “lazy” pierogi - because all the ingredients are tossed in the bowl – rather than separated to make a dough and stuffing. They are very much like a cheese dumpling. You can eat them plain or with a dash of pepper. Next he will make his Aunt’s/Cousin’s Placki - potato pancake – (latke is the Jewish version). He will then finish up with his Aunt’s Golumpki – stuffed cabbage. He uses a mixture of pork and veal where the original recipe usually calls for only pork.

Recipes will be provided in advance. Register here or by emailing coadirector@sherbornma.org
